Pre-shipment Inspection required for shredded scrap cargo to India 30 March 2009 Dear Valued Customer: On 23 March 2009, India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a directive that made pre-shipment inspections mandatory for shredded scrap cargo to India. Effective immediately, importers are required to fill up the official pre-shipment certificate and declare that the consignment does not contain radioactive contaminated material in any form.
