Mexican Customs Bulletin 245 – Bill of Lading requirements

12 November 2009

Dear Valued Customer,

According to bulletin number 245, issued by the Mexican customs office on 21 October 2009, all requests for amendments to the inbound manifest after the vessel’s arrival will be subjected to a heavy penalty.

As APL will be making the final inbound manifest transmission for amendments 24 hours before vessel’s arrival, it is imperative that any amendments to the bills of lading must be received 48 hours before the vessel arrives in the ports of Mexico.

Please be reminded that bills of lading must be fully completed with details of accurate weight, piece count and commodity description without the use of abbreviations.

As always, do not hesitate to contact your local customer service or APL representative, if you require further assistance.

Yours Sincerely,
