Holiday Embargo On Reefer
Container Traffic Moving Within Canada
19 November 2009
Dear Valued Customer,
Canadian Pacific Railways (CP Rail) and Canadian National Railways (CN Rail) will embargo all export/import reefer container traffic effective Friday December 11th 2009 until Monday December 28th.
For import traffic, this means NO containers (inland final destination) can be booked for the APL SPAIN V.137 (SPA137) which is scheduled to come into Centerm on Sunday December 13th 2009 and on any other vessel scheduled to come in during this time period.
Any inland reefer cargo arriving in Vancouver (Centerm port) during this time will be held at the port until the rail service resumes. Any customers who breach this embargo will be held fully responsible for paying any fees or costs incurred while violating this suspension of service.
For export traffic, this means NO containers can be booked for the APL Spain V.137 (SPA137) which has a cut off of Friday December 11th 2009 and on any other vessel during this time period.
Our customer service has been advised not to accept any export bookings from inland destinations (Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Calgary) during this time period.
CPR shuts down operations for approximately 36-48 hours at mid-day on the 24th of December. It is highly recommended that any remaining live reefers be picked up from CPR facilities by end of day on Wednesday the 23rd of December as Perishable Protective Service will not be offered during the shut down period.
We express our appreciation for your continued support. If you require additional information, please contact your local sales representative or customer service representative.
Yours Sincerely,
