Maximum Weight Limit for Containers on Union Pacific Railroad

Dear Valued Customer,

Further to our Advisory notice of 7 May 2010, UPRR will begin a testing program at their intermodal terminals where intermodal shipments (containers and trailers) will randomly be weighed to ensure shipper declared weights are consistent with actual unit weights.

In the event an overweight shipment is detected, the concerned container will need to be retrieved and may incur penalties.

We remind you to comply with these weight restrictions for shipments that require the services of UPRR to avoid delays and penalties for non compliance.
