Implementation of IMDG Regulation Amendment No.35 by Port Klang Authority for Port Klang North & West Port

The IMDG regulation amendment No.35 went into effect from 1 January 2011 on a voluntary basis until 1 January 2012 when it becomes mandatory. However, the Port Klang Authority made the amendment No.35 mandatory effective from 1 Jun 2011 for Port Klang North and West Port. This advisory is a reminder that this notice is in effect.

Port Klang Authority notice 02/2011stipulates that 16 additional categories of goods and 2 existing categories that were previously not subjected to the IMDG code, are now reclassified as dangerous goods.

In particular, all vehicles discharging at Port Klang North & West Port are now considered as dangerous goods under UN 3166.

A copy of the Port Klang Authority notice is attached.

APL will accept dangerous and hazardous cargo which is in compliance with all local and international government and port authority’s rules and regulations.
