Increased Scrutiny of Amendment to Seal Number on Container at Port of Xingang, China 04 Oct 2011 Due to an increased emphasis on compliance enforcement, the Port of Xingang customs is increasing its scrutiny of containers whose seal numbers are amended after the submission of inbound cargo manifest. Containers with amended seal number(s) will be targeted for separate inspection, resulting in possible delay of cargo delivery and potentially expensive additional cost. This enforcement action by Port of Xingang customs has immediate effect. Customers with shipments to Xingang are reminded of the importance to ensure that correct and accurate seal number(s) are shown on their shipping instructions and any correction, if necessary, has to be done latest 5 days before vessel’s arrival at the discharge port. |
