We are writing to inform you that ship operator, Hapag Lloyd,  reported on 20 January 2012 that one of their containers on board the vessel , M.V. Busan Express, caught fire while enroute from Port Kelang to Jeddah. As the affected container was stowed in the fore front and on deck, the vessel’s crews were able to successfully extinguish the fire on 20 January 2012.

Vessel returned to Port Kelang on 21 January 2012 and is presently waiting for surveyor and fire expert’s evaluation before she is allowed to berth. Vessel is expected to continue her voyage once the fire-damaged container is discharged after berthing. We will keep you informed once we receive further update from ship operator.
