Roger Cordiner

United plane

A United Airlines’ 747 at Seattle-Tacoma Airport
Roger Cordiner is the Lead Aviation Technician for United Airlines. He works at Sea-Tac International Airport outside Seattle. It’s his job to keep United’s planes flying, making sure that they are safe and on time every day. He knows that people’s lives depend on the quality of his work.

A plane flying passengers and cargo around the country or around the world needs regular inspections and maintenance to keep it in top flying condition. That’s Roger’s role, and he and his team of mechanics spend their days and nights climbing in and out of planes to make sure they are ready to fly.

But the job doesn’t end there. A lot of people depend on Roger’s work, and he has to be in constant communication with the people who work for him, as well as with United’s ticket agents. If a plane is delayed because Roger is working on it, he has to let all the ticket agents know so that they can inform passengers and reschedule the flight.

It’s good to know there’s someone like Roger keeping planes safe. Want to help him on his job? Teachers!! Click here for a downloadable lesson about Roger Cordiner.
