Lourdes, APL's Administration Manager and Legal Representative in Guatemala, worked for cargo agent Aimar, S.A. from 1991 through July 2001. When APL began its own agency service in Guatemala in 2000, Lourdes joined APL.

Like her APL colleagues around the world, Lourdes does a great deal of her work electronically. She starts each day by reading her e-mails, checking that requests related to APL Guatemala for customer service, documentation, and equipment control are fulfilled.

Lourdes is also in charge of personnel in her office. That means she interviews people for new jobs at the office, checks the references of new employees, and makes sure that employees' files are complete and up to date.

Lourdes has a lot of responsibility in her job, but she is always seeking more. "It does not matter if it is my direct responsibility," she says of new challenges. She tries to "help everyone that needs support" in any way she can.
