The so-called Boomerang Box, an educational project sponsored by container shipping line APL, arrived in Singapore on Wednesday to a fanfare of pom-pom girls, streamers and balloons.

Lim How Tech, president and chief executive officer of APL, is pictured in front of the 40-foot container decorated with artwork by schoolchildren from Seattle, when it arrived at the headquarters of APL’s parent company, Neptune Orient Lines (NOL). Students around the world are tracking the box on the Internet, following its journey between n the US and Asia to learn more about international trade.
