What do students in West Seattle, USA have in common with kids all over the
world? They've got school spirit!
To demonstrate that spirit, several hundred West Seattle students all the
way from kindergarten to 12th grade marched in the West Seattle School
Pride Parade on October 18th. The parade featured marching bands, flamenco
dancers, a roving reporter, unicyclists, and gymnasts' all strutting their
stuff for moms, dads and neighbors.
The Boomerang Box got in on the act too, since it was leaving Seattle later
that week. No, the box wasn't in the parade motorized vehicles aren't
allowed in the School Pride Parade and no one felt like pulling a 15-ton
cargo container by hand! However, Boomerang Box posters floated among the
crowd and kids talked eagerly about their plans to follow the box (and
their artwork) once it left for other ports.
