Thank you for using the APL Boomerang Box Project web site (the "Boomerang Box Site"). The APL Boomerang Box Project (the "Boomerang Box Project") is sponsored by APL Limited ("APL"), a shipping company, as an educational outreach program for students.

The Boomerang Box Site is designed for teachers, students, and parents. We hope our users find this site a helpful way to learn more about geography, international trade, transportation, and current events.

Use of Personal Information

• We not place 'cookies' on your computer.
• We do not collect information about you unless you submit it to us voluntarily.
• We do track overall usage of the Boomerang Box Site in order to gather anonymous statistical information, but we do not track individual usage.

Teachers and Parents

• We only allow parents or teachers to register for the Boomerang Box Project and our school-to-school pen pal program.
• Teachers and parents who wish to register for the Boomerang Box Boomerang Box Project or join our school-to-school pen pal program are asked to provide certain personally identifiable information.
• We will use this information internally only for the purpose of updating you about the Boomerang Box Project.
• We will not retain this information beyond the completion of the Boomerang Box Boomerang Box Project.
• We will never sell this information or give it away to outside parties.

Children Under 13

• We know that many of the users the Boomerang Box Site are children under the age of 13.
• Children can access the Boomerang Box Site, view content and submit questions to our "Ask the Eagle" e-mail question service without being requested or required to submit any personally identifiable information.
• Children are not permitted to register for the Boomerang Box Project or use any portion of the Boomerang Box Site that requests or requires the submission of personal information.
• If we find that a child has submitted personal information or are not satisfied that a person submitting personal information through the Boomerang Box Site is an adult, we will immediately delete that personal information from our database.

Access and Verification

• We will honor your request to view or change any personal information you submit through the Boomerang Box Site through the completion of the Boomerang Box Project. After completion of the Boomerang Box Project we will delete all of your personal information.
• Please direct all requests regarding your personal information to the e-mail or postal address listed under "Further Assistance" below. Include a photocopy or, in the case of e-mail, a scanned copy of the front and back of your driver's license, other government issued identification or credit card so we may verify your identity.

Links to Outside Sites

• Many of our materials contain links to outside web sites that are beyond our control ("Outside Sites").
• We make every effort to ensure that the content of Outside Sites is educational and appropriate for users of all ages. However, Outside Sites are not controlled by APL or the Boomerang Box Project, so we can offer no guarantees about the content, security or privacy policies of any Outside Sites.
• Outside Sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data or solicit personal information.

Use Restrictions
All materials posted on the Boomerang Box Site can be freely printed and reproduced for educational purposes, but only as outlined in our Terms of Use.

We make our best effort to ensure the security of information you send us once we have received a transmission from you. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you may transmit to us before it has reached our computers.
