APL LinerTrain™ - A Seamless Journey for Asian Cargo to Key Cities in North America
APL has designed LinerTrain™ to fast-track your cargo from Asia to inland destinations in North America via APL’s West Coast terminals.
Mr Robert F. Sappio, Senior Vice-President, Trans-Pacific Trade, says LinerTrain™ offers some of the best solutions for Trans-Pacific transit routes to key destinations across North America – including Memphis, Chicago and New York.
“ APL developed LinerTrain™ in order to provide customers with a comprehensive vessel and rail network with seamless connections for shipments from Asia into North America,” Mr Sappio says.
“As the largest, international intermodal purchaser, APL’s port and rail services are closely networked through APL-managed terminals. This creates a platform to offer our customers speed and reliability with every shipment, particularly with time-sensitive cargo, such as fashion apparels.”
On-dock rail facilities at APL’s state-of-the-art intermodal terminals in Los Angeles and Seattle allow the direct transfer of inland-bound cargo from arriving APL vessels onto APL-dedicated trains for synchronized departures.
As the developer of the first double-stacked cargo train, APL has a substantial dedicated train service, with fewer stops en-route to enable rapid and reliable delivery of cargo. LinerTrain™ also ensures that vessel stowage can be planned at loading ports in Asia to facilitate cargo transfers from ship to rail upon arrival at United States West Coast Terminals.
Mr Sappio said, “Our pioneering, state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure are augmented by our resourceful expertise. From sales, customer service, management to operations teams, everyone at APL is in tune to getting your Trans-Pacific shipment to its destination on time, hassle-free.”
