U.S. Employee Benefits (non-union)

U.S. Full-time Management and Administrative Employees
These benefits are available to most employees in the United States. If you are applying for a job, be sure to ask about the benefits package for that location.

401(K) PLAN (Administered by Fidelity)
Employees can begin contributing from their date of hire. After 6 months of employment, APL matches employee contributions at a rate of 75¢ on the dollar on up to 6% of earnings. Nine investment funds are available. You are vested in the Company's contributions based on your years of service: less than 1 year of service - 0% vested, 1 year - 20%, 2 years - 40%, 3 years - 60%, 4 years - 80%, 5 or more years of service - 100% vested.
CASH BALANCE PENSION PLAN
APL establishes an account for you and annually credits your account:

Account accumulates annual credits and interest each year. You become vested in your account when you attain 5 years of service with APL.


FLEXIBLE BENEFITS PLAN
Medical OptionsPPO through United HealthCare - $10 co-payment for most in-network services.
HMOs: $5 co-pay for most services
Dental2 options: standard and high-option; both have orthodontia coverage.
VisionVSP coverage (except Kaiser members receive services from Kaiser)
Life InsuranceAPL provides enough FlexDollars to purchase coverage of 2 times salary. The first 1 times salary up to $50,000 is provided at no charge. Additional coverage is also available.
Disability Insurance3 options - each provides coverage of 66 and 2/3% of pay.

TIME OFF WITH PAY
VacationNew hires accrue 10 days of vacation per year. After 5 years of service, accruals increase to 15 days per year. In addition, beginning the first full calendar year after being hired, employees may purchase up to 3 days of vacation through the flexible benefits plan.
Holidays12 paid holidays (including 4 floating holidays)
Sick PayEmployees accrue 1 day per month up to a maximum of 150 days.
