APL eBusiness to replace HomePort on 15 October 2018

We are pleased to inform that effective 15 October 2018, APL eBusiness will replace HomePort as APL’s new eBusiness platform for your online transactions.

Upon signing in via the new APL.com – also launched on 15 October – you will be taken directly to APL eBusiness, instead of HomePort.

HomePort will remain accessible until the last online transaction completes on the platform.

Please find below an overview of the difference between your HomePort and APL eBusiness experience:

APL eBusiness HomePort
Booking You will be directed to APL eBusiness to place bookings for all voyages on:
- 11 selected services
- All other APL services, starting with voyages that begin on or after 12 November 2018
You will be directed to HomePort to place bookings for all vessel voyages:
- Not on the 11 services - Voyages starting before 12 November 2018
Booking/SI Templates Customers will need to re-create and save templates for bookings and Shipping Instructions (one-off) Customers can continue to use the templates you saved for bookings and Shipping Instructions for voyages booked in HomePort
Booking Number Upon booking submission, you will receive your actual booking number as a single reference You will first receive a reference number for your submitted booking. Upon booking confirmation, you will receive another booking number
Shipment and document management Manage your shipment and documents for voyages booked in APL eBusiness Manage your shipment and documents for voyages booked in HomePort
Document templates For voyages booked in APL eBusiness, you will receive Booking Confirmation, Bill of Lading (BL), Notice of Arrival, invoice and all other documents in new APL templates For voyages booked in HomePort, you will receive Booking Confirmation, Bill of Lading (BL), Notice of Arrival and all other documents in current APL templates
Printing of Original BL (OBL) - Print on new OBL blank form paper (check with your local Customer Service representative)
- A second set of OBL can be printed once your local APL office has been informed of this request. The serial numbers on the OBL blank form paper that had been used in initial print will have to be relayed to the local agency
- Print on current OBL blank form paper
- Print second set of OBL directly
