APL Transportation & Logistics Ltd Sti formed in Turkey Istanbul, July 25, 2005: – APL and APL Logistics, the container shipping and logistics units of Singapore’s NOL Group, have established a new organisation in Turkey to handle their business activities. APL Transportation & Logistics Ltd Sti., based in Istanbul and headed by country manager Ms Bindalli Erkorol, will take over responsibility for APL and APL Logistics activities from July 25, 2005. Mr David Appleton, NOL regional president for Europe said: “Turkey is an increasingly important market for both our liner and logistics operations. The creation of our own organisation and the opening of our own office in Istanbul are an affirmation of our commitment to the country and recognition of the opportunities we see in its economy.” APL offers cargo transportation services linking the Turkish ports of Istanbul, Izmir and Mersin with its global network via regional hubs in Port Said, Egypt and Gioia Tauro, Italy.
