JCPenney honors APL, APL Logistics

2006 Supply Chain Award for service, one-company approach

Hong Kong, 25 August 2006 – JCPenney, one of the world’s best-known retailers, has presented its 2006 Supply Chain Award to global ocean carrier APL and its sister company, supply chain management leader APL Logistics. The award was presented here at JCPenney’s fifth annual Supplier Summit.

For more than 100 years a top department store, catalogue and on-line retailer, JCPenney based its selection of APL and APL Logistics on, among other things:

• customer service,
• data accuracy, and
• close integration between APL and APL Logistics.

“We view them as one company,” said Inga Kerutis, International Carrier Relations Manager for JCPenney.
