The New World Alliance, Hanjin, and UASC Announce New Asia-Black Sea Service

Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, Dubai, Oct. 4, 2007 - The New World Alliance (TNWA) - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), APL, and Hyundai Merchant Marine, Co., Ltd. (HMM) - Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd and United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) today announced a new Asia-East Mediterranean / Black Sea service, named "EBX" (East-Mediterranean / Black Sea Express).

The introduction of the new service will enable TNWA, Hanjin and UASC to offer direct service from major Asian export hubs to key destinations in the East Mediterranean / Black Sea area, where the market is growing at remarkable speed.

From early November, 2007, the EBX service will deploy eight vessels (among which three will be operated by MOL, two operated by APL and one each operated by Hanjin, HMM, and UASC) ranging from 2,500-2,700 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) on a weekly service operating on a 56-day rotation.
