APL and CONCOR Form Indian Intermodal Joint Venture

Singapore, New Delhi, 03 Aug 2004 – Global container transportation provider APL and intermodal giant Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) have established a joint-venture to build and operate a container freight station (CFS) and container yard within India's largest inland logistics hub to serve the fast-growing hinterland north of New Delhi.

The new facilities will provide APL and sister company APL Logistics with more operational flexibility and further enhance the scope and scale of services offered to customers in the New Delhi area. Services will include cargo consolidation, warehousing, documentation, repairs and value-added logistics services. CONCOR will be the exclusive provider of intermodal network services.

This venture allows us to provide customers with inventory management capacity supported by quick, efficient and reliable intermodal services that complement our global ocean transportation and logistics offerings."

Mr Lim added, "In CONCOR, we have a partner that is committed to service excellence and that can help us to further enhance our country-wide network and services to customers."

AK Kohli, Managing Director of CONCOR, said, "We are happy to strengthen our long association with APL through this joint venture at Dadri. I feel that this is a winning combination for the mutual benefit of our core businesses as well as our customers."
