APL Expands Presence in Poland London, March 30, 2005 – APL, the global container shipping arm of the NOL Group, has announced the formation of its own organisation in Poland. From April 1, 2005, APL Poland Sp. z o.o, based in Gdynia will assume responsibility for all APL activities in the country. The company will be headed by Mr Niels Jakobsgaard. Mr Jakobsgaard joins APL Poland from Scan-Group Agencies, which has acted as Polish agent for APL since 1998. David Appleton, NOL’s regional president for Europe, commented: “The establishment of our own organisation in Poland continues a long-term strategy to increase our direct contact with customers in the region. It enables us to offer our full range of customer service capabilities and IT tools and deliver a broader and better experience for our Polish customers.” APL serves the Polish market over the German hub ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven.
