Leading the way in Intermodalism As the pioneer of intermodal transportation and stack trains, APL stays committed in improving shipping efficiencies today, with the LinerTrain.

Since 1867, APL has linked the major trading hubs of Asia and North America. Today, we operate 12 weekly services, with four offering all-water coverage between Asia and the U.S. East Coast. An overview of APL's North America-Asia and Asia-North America services can be viewed here.

APL has designed the LinerTrain to move your cargo directly from our vessels to dedicated trains loaded on-dock at our state-of-the-art West Coast terminals, and to many inland destinations across North America. Our resourceful employees coordinate and synchronize rail departures with vessel stowage and arrivals, delivering some of the fastest and most dependable transits in the industry.
