Global Security
Our Commitment
The threat of terrorism and heightened concerns around global supply chain security are bringing about significant changes to the regulations and documentation requirements for international trade. In this increasingly complex security environment, choosing the right supply chain partners has never been more important.
APL's Global Security resource includes the latest information and links on Security and Industry Regulations and key links to Security and Regulatory Organizations. These links and documents are regularly updated to ensure that our customers have access to the latest information and official government advisories.

We are constantly reviewing our procedures to ensure, wherever possible, that robust systems are in place. As circumstances change, we move to further enhance security practices in key areas of our operations.
APL is directly involved in many security initiatives including being certified and validated under C-TPAT as an ocean carrier, terminal operator and third party logistics provider. APL continues to contribute to the development of workable solutions throughout the industry aimed at improving global supply chain security while minimizing the impact on the flow of trade. In this respect, APL has recently been appointed to the Department Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Functions (COAC). APL is the only ocean carrier on this important committee which provides advice to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials on the trade implications of cargo security and Customs compliance regulations.
Additionally, APL is a member of the World Shipping Council's Security Advisory Committee, the Retail Industry Leaders Association Supply Chain Security Committee and the National Industrial Transportation League's Select Committee on Security. As a part of these groups, APL provides critical industry feedback to proposed government legislation affecting the maritime transportation industry.
Please contact APL Security if you require any further information about Global Security or Trade Regulation matters.
