Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions

Overview

COAC is an advisory committee established in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The committee provides advice to the Commissioner of CBP, the Secretary of DHS and Secretary of the Treasury on all matters involving the commercial operations of CBP and related functions within DHS or Treasury. It also plays an important role in not only improving supply chain security but ensuring that trade is not disrupted in the process. COAC members include representatives from manufacturing, retailing and the high technology sector as well as transportation and logistics.

It is expected that during its tenth two-year term, COAC will consider issues that include:
a strategic plan to enhance supply chain security, more detailed information about the
movement of cargo and the impact of security policies on international trade.

APL/APLL is proud to have member representation on this distinguished committee ensuring our
industry is expertly and effectively represented.
