24 Hour Advance Manifest Rules

Truck

Overview

Today, the manifest information not only has to be very precise, but it must be submitted 24 hours before the cargo is loaded on vessels bound for the U.S. This 24-hour period is the time U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has to filter the information through its automated targeting system. High-risk containers are identified prior to vessel load and inspected at the load port.

The 24-hour manifest rule has since expanded beyond the U.S.  Many countries now require 24 hour advance notice before cargo is loaded on vessels. Listed below is inbound advance manifest cutoffs information for U.S., Canada and Mexico.
