Secure Trade Partnership (STP)

Overview

As a key player in global supply chain security, Singapore Customs developed and implemented the Secure Trade Partnership (STP) Program which was initially launched in 2007.  Since then an enhanced version of STP was developed called STP Plus that entails a set of security criteria a company needs in order to obtain a higher level of certification.

Both STP and STP Plus are voluntary programs and are consistent with the World Customs Organization SAFE Framework of Standards to secure and facilitate global trade.  APL was one of the first companies to receive certification in the STP Program and can proudly say it is STP Plus Certified.

More recently the STP Program now benefits from Singapore Customs’ Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) on supply chain security with Canadian and Korean authorities.   Singapore now joins the ranks of customs authorities such as Canada, the European Union, Japan, New Zealand and the United States, which have signed mutual recognition instruments.

For more information on the MRA between Singapore, Canada and Korea and STP Programs see Key Links and Information below.
