Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

Overview

Nationwide compliance for the Transportation Worker identification Credential (TWIC) has been in effect since April 15, 2009.  All licensed or documented mariners and individuals requiring unescorted access to MTSA regulated vessels and facilities need to obtain a TWIC. TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric credential. Currently more than 1 million individuals have obtained a TWIC.

APL has been selected to be the only terminal operator in the Port of Los Angeles to participate in the TWIC Reader Pilot Program. APL's role in this pilot program is to ensure that trade is not adversely effected.
