Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Overview
As of April 15th, 2009 nationwide compliance for the Transportation Worker identification Credential (TWIC) is now in effect. All licensed or documented mariners and individuals requiring unescorted access to MTSA regulated vessels and facilities need to obtain a TWIC.
TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric credential. Currently more than 1 million individuals have obtained a TWIC.
