Rail Excess Weight Surcharge effective 13 February 2020

Please be informed that effective 13 February 2020, APL will apply a Rail Excess Weight Surcharge (RWT) for cargo being transported by rail or motor rail with Union Pacific Railroad and/or Canadian National Railway for the service scope below:

  • 40' dry or refrigerated container that has a gross weight above 52,000 pounds or 23.59 metric tons
  • 45' dry container that has a gross weight above 52,000 pounds or 23.59 metric tons

  • 45' dry container that has a gross weight above 60,000 pounds or 27.22 metric tons
