Canada Imports: APL to cease Electronic House BL service
Please be informed that effective September 1, 2019, APL will cease providing Electronic House Bill of Lading (eHBL) service on cargo bound for Canada.
Please ensure that you make the necessary arrangements to transmit your eHBL to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) directly, as APL will no longer transmit this data on your behalf. Effective September 1, 2019, all eHBL CBSA submissions must also be received by APL’s origin offices by the locally advertised documentation cut-off time.
According to CBSA, it is mandatory for freight forwarders to provide eHBL for all import, in-bond and in-transit cargo, and supplementary for Freight Remaining Onboard (FROB). The complete Customs Notice outlining the requirements is published online at http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/cn-ad/cn16-20-eng.html
For more information, please contact your local APL representative.
Thank you for your business and continued support.
