Trans-Pacific Eastbound Market – Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) Update Effective 1 January 2020

With reference to our previous advisory dated 9 October 2019, please be advised that VLSFO will replace the current HSFO as the price reference for the quarterly Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) – also known as Bunker Surcharge (BSC) – for long-term contracts of more than 3 months' validity, effective 1 January 2020.

The quantums and service scope for BAF applicable from 1 January 2020 until further notice, are as stated below:

Origin: Asia, Australia, East Africa, Middle East, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, West Asia(1,2)
Destination: Canada, USA (US West Coast/ Group 4 except Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands), Hawaii

2. This bunker surcharge (BAF03) is applicable to any service contract or tariff rate item that has validity greater than three months and not subject to bunker surcharge (BAF08).

Destination: Canada, USA (Except Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands)

Destination: USA Groups 1, 2, 3 (IPI), Atlantic/Gulf Coast Base port and New York/New Jersey commercial zone via MLB service
